Will my child’s class coaches be the coaches at his/her birthday party?

NY Kids Club birthday parties are staffed with a dedicated birthday team specifically trained to lead spectacular birthday parties. However, if your favorite weekday coach is available and would like to work your party, we can include him/her as an additional coach on the party for $75.

Can I change the date and time of my birthday party after booking it?

Yes, your birthday party day/time can be switched up to 30 days prior to the scheduled event.

Can I change my party theme/package?

Yes, your birthday party theme and/or package can be switched up to 1 week prior to the scheduled event.

What is the timeline of the birthday planning process?

  • Right after you book your party, you’ll receive an email confirming the date, time, and details about what’s included in the package you’ve selected. There will also be information about what to expect the day of your party and in the weeks to come.
  • 1 ½ weeks before your party you will receive our Birthday Details Form to complete. This form will walk over all of the details of your party, including number and ages of children attending, cake and pizza requests, what you’re bringing, and any add-on items you would like us to provide.
  • The Sunday before your party, your Birthday Details Form is due.
  • On Monday, your Birthday Coordinator will reach out to you to confirm all party details and to discuss any outstanding concerns.
  • On Friday, the final balance will be charged.
  • Enjoy your party Saturday or Sunday!
  • Right after your party you will receive a survey about your experience. Please let us know how we did!

How many classes are in a semester?

There are 17 classes in the fall and winter/spring semester. There are 13 classes in the summer semester.

Will the price be prorated if I register after the start of the semester?

Yes, we accept registration on an ongoing basis, and the class price will be prorated automatically.

Do you offer trial classes?

Yes, you can join us for a trial class at the prorated cost of one class. Trial classes must be scheduled in advance with your location by phone.

I have been waitlisted for a class. How will I know if a space becomes available?

We will contact you via phone or email using the contact information you have provided in your account.

My child missed a class. How do I schedule a makeup?

Please contact the center to schedule a makeup class. You may schedule a makeup class in any age appropriate class (pending availability) during the semester in which your child is enrolled.

Can I unenroll myself from a full semester class online?

No, you must call your location to unenroll from a class.

What is an independent participation class?

Children participate for the full length of class without their adults.

What is an adult participation class?

One adult is required to accompany each participating student to class. Adults must remain actively engaged for the full length of class. Music, language and art classes allow for one adult with two children.

What is a gentle separation program?

The gentle separation program is the process of achieving independent learning. While all parties (teachers and parents/caregivers) must share the goal of helping the child achieve independent learning, the parent/caregiver may stay with the child for as long as necessary. The parent plays a passive role in the learning environment and interacts with the child minimally, allowing the teachers to engage the child in class activities and to begin to create a student-teacher bond.

Does NY Kids Club charge a registration or membership fee?

No, there are no registration or membership fees. You automatically become a NY Kids Club member when you register for any full semester class.

Are there any perks that come with a full semester class registration?

Yes, when you register for a full semester class, you will get

  • access to our Open Play.
  • access to our seasonal promotions exclusive to registered families.

Do I need a NY Kids Club account?

Yes, in order to register for classes, camps, open play, and special events and to schedule makeups you will need to have an account. In your account your will also be able to change your contact information, change your account password, update your credit card information, view your orders, view your store credit, and view current and past classes, camps, open play sessions, events, and make ups, and more!

How do I create an account?

When you register for your first program at NY Kids Club, an account will be created for you as part of the process.

How do I login?

Go to hisawyer.com and click “Log In” under the “Sawyer for Families” section on the left side of your screen. Enter your email address and password.

I have an account, but the system is not recognizing my email address.

Please call your home location, and we will locate your account and provide you with the email address we have on your account.

I have an account, but I don’t know my password.

Go to hisawyer.com and click “Log In” under the “Sawyer for Families” section on the left side of the page. Then, click “Forgot Password.” An email will be sent to you from Sawyer. Follow the steps in the email to reset your password.

I would like to change my password.

Login to your account at hisawyer.com. Hover over your name on the top right menu bar, and select ‘My Account.’ Scroll to the password section and click ‘Change.’

Do I need to register in advance for Open Play or can I just come?

Registration in advance is required for all Open Play sessions.

How do I register for Open Play?

Login to your account, click on “Play Space”, click “Sign Up”, select your location, click on the sessions you would like to attend and click “Book Times”.

How far in advance can I register for Open Play?

Up to two weeks in advance.

When do Open Play times get posted online for the following week?

Open Play times are posted on Sunday night at 9pm.

Can I unenroll myself from Open Play online?

Yes, you can unenroll online until one hour prior to the open play session. Login to your account, click on “Play Space”, locate the session you would like to cancel, and click the “X”.

I have been waitlisted for an open play session. How will I know if a space becomes available?

We will call or email you if a space opens up.

If I received a complimentary Open Play pack with my class registration, when can I begin using this pack and when will it expire?

A complimentary Open Play pack goes into affect on the first day of the semester for which you registered and expires on the last day of the semester.

When does a purchased 10, 20, or 30 Pack of Open Play Passes expire?

One year from the date of purchase.

I am enrolled in a class but do not have any open play passes. Can I purchase one play pass to come to open play?

No, play passes are only sold in packs of 10, 20, or 30.

I am not enrolled in a class, but would like to come for open play.

Open Play packs are available to all age appropriate families!

I am registered for a class and would like to invite a friend who is not registered for a class to join me for open play. What can I do?

You can use one Open Play pass for your own child and use one pass to pay for your friend.

What events do you offer?

Pajama Parties, Weekend Camp, Seasonal Events, various Parenting Workshops, and seasonal parties.

Do I need to register in advance for events, or can I come and pay at the door?

Yes, all events require advance registration.

How do I register for an event?

Login to your account, click on “Single Day Programs”, select your location on the left hand side, then select “Drop Off”, “Adult & Child” or “Adult Seminars”, select your event of choice and click “Sign Up”. Check off all of the events you would like to attend and click “Book Times”.

Can I unenroll myself from an event online?

No, you must call your location to unenroll from an event.

I am enrolled in a class, and would like to attend one of your upcoming events. What are my payment options?

If you received complimentary events with your class registration, you can use your “Event Credit” to register for our Friday Fun for Everyone, PJ Parties, Weekend Camp, Super Awesome Saturdays, Adult Seminars, and Seasonal Parties. Or you can simply sign up for an event with a credit card or cash.

I am not enrolled in a class. Can I attend your events?

Yes, you are welcome to sign up for any Single Day Program at the NY Kids Club.

I received a complimentary Open Play pack with my class registration, does this give me complimentary access to your events?

The Open Play pack is for Open Play only and may not be used for events.

When is camp offered?

We offer Summer Camp from early June through August, a two week Holiday Camp at the end of December, and a two week Spring Break Camp in March. Some locations offer School Break Camps to coincide with local school vacations.

How do I sign my child up for camp?

Camp sign up can be done online, in-person, or over the phone with a NYKC operations team member. Enrollment for Summer Camp is open on a week-to-week basis, with a two week minimum for registration. Spring Break Camp and Holiday Camp are open for enrollment on a day-by-day basis, and there is no minimum for enrollment.

What’s the refund policy for camp?

Students are entitled to a full refund, less a $25 cancellation fee per day, up to 30 days prior to the day(s) being cancelled. Should you choose to take a NYKC credit, the cancellation fee will be waived. No credits or refunds will be processed past this point. Refund requests must be submitted in writing and must include the child’s name, the adult’s name, the details of the program being cancelled, and the reason for the cancellation.

What does my child need to bring to camp?

Your child should come to camp in clothes he or she can move in. If your child wears diapers, is potty training, or there is a possibility he or she will have an accident, please bring a change of clothes and any additional items (diapers, wipes) in a ziploc bag with him or her name on it. If your child is staying for an extended day of camp, please provide a nut-free, non-refrigerated lunch. A snack is provided to all campers.

What can I pack my child for lunch?

Please pack a non-refrigerated and nut-free lunch for your child.

What if my child is sick? Can I take a makeup?

Make-ups for camp may be available based on space availability. In order to be eligible for a camp make-up you MUST cancel your scheduled camp day no later than 8:00am on the day of the session. Should you choose not to attend your scheduled camp day and fail to call us by 8:00am, you will forfeit the payment for your camp day and a make-up will not be given.

Can I take a trial camp-day?

We do not offer trial classes for camp. For Spring, Holiday, and School Break camps, you are welcome to register for a single day and increase your enrollment after that time. There is a two week minimum for enrollment in Summer Camp.

What are the prerequisites for Camp?

All children who register for camp are required to have taken a separation class (either at NYKC or elsewhere) prior to the start of their camp session.

Does my child have to be potty trained?

Your child does not have to be potty trained in order to attend camp. We simply ask that you keep us informed of your practices at home so that we may continue them while your child is at camp. Also, please provide a change of diaper/clothes for your child in a ziploc bag with his/her name on it.

What is extended day camp?

Extended day camp provides an opportunity for parents to extend their child’s camp day. During this time, children will have lunch as a group, and participate in two or three classes and interactive play. Extended day options vary by location and by program – please check with your location for specific offerings!

Will my weekly class be held while Holiday/Spring Break Camp is in session?

No. Classes are held in 17 week sessions, which do not include the two weeks of Holiday and Spring Break Camp. However, we encourage all children who are age-appropriate to attend these camps as the consistency and enrichment activities that camp offers will continue a substantial routine in your child’s life. The camp curriculum varies activities on a daily basis as well, so your child will be receiving the best of what NY Kids Club has to offer in terms of programming (i.e. gymnastics, art, music, movement, martial arts, yoga, sports, cooking, science, dance and our industry renowned interactive theater experience).
